The ranked choice ballot lists 4 names for the two At Large Council seats.  The votes that will get priority are the ones that are ranked first.  Once a candidate ranked first clears 50% they will tally the other candidates ranked first.  The person ranked second may not count. In our city, that will probably be either the Independent candidate or the Republican candidate.  If the preference is for a Democratic and Independent Council member, enough people will have to rank the Independent candidate first and others the Democratic candidate first. Although we are voting for two positions, we will get one ranked choice vote.
